Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society will host a jumble sale | Local News

BLAKESBURG — The Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society will hold a rummage sale on June 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The sale will take place in the Blakesburg Elementary School cafeteria. The Something for Everyone exhibit will include unique collectibles, antiques, furniture, books and sundries with proceeds going towards museum upkeep and the acquisition of Blakesburg artifacts.

During the same hours, the Friends of the Blakesburg Public Library will operate in the library’s future location across from City Hall. Along with a fine collection of homewares, collectibles, furniture and books for sale, visitors will be able to view the progress of the remodel as well as plans for the finished project. Proceeds will go to the library building fund.

More garage sales and garage sales will be popping up all over Blakesburg.

To kick off the day of the flea market, an all-you-can-eat breakfast is served at the Blakesburg Christian Church as well as a bake sale from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, choice of drinks and more. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Blakesburg Garden Club. Proceeds from the bake sale will help fund the youth group’s Bible camp.
