The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, commended the efforts and commitment of digital and telecommunications service provider, Globacom, to promote Nigerian culture and values to the rest of the world. The monarch said this during the 2022 edition of the Ojude Oba festival.

Oba Adetona said in the speech by Ojude Oba Planning Committee Chairman Dr. Fassy Adetokunbo that the company’s consistent support of the Ojude Oba Festival since 2006 has added immense value to the annual event.

He also praised Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., describing him as an icon who upholds the value systems and cultures of Nigerians and prayed for his continued success and prosperity.

In his goodwill message to the festival, Dr Adenuga said Globacom’s continued collaboration with the Ojude Oba festival committee is rooted in his company’s passionate commitment to be at the forefront of major initiatives aimed at celebrating the best of Nigeria’s cultures and traditions with a view to preserving them for posterity.

“The need to provide strong platforms for our diverse peoples across the country to fully express their cultures and traditions has become all the more timely, especially with the advent of globalization which has reduced the entire world to a village. Our cultures are therefore the content of our being and our history which must be preserved for posterity,” he added.
