Softball for young people

In Cap Area Majors action, Concord Northeast Local Baskit outlasted Concord National Lilise Designer Resale in a back and forth battle. For Local Baskit, Liv Abrams took the win and went 4-for-4 with five RBIs, Kate Fennelly played outstanding defense and Leah Pappas drove in two runs. For LDR, Amalee Lynch was strong in the circle and behind home plate, and Bella Messenger went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk and four RBIs.

American Legion Concord Post 21 Senior Baseball Team Registration is open to players between the ages of 16 and 19. Trial dates will be announced soon. Post 21 recently announced that Concord’s Nate Craigue — a former minor league player in the Minnesota Twins system in the 1990s — would be the team’s new head coach.


4th Annual NH Lightning Softball Camp for players ages 7-12 is scheduled for July 20 at Martin Field in Concord. The seats are limited. Register at www.nhlightning.org.

Need for coaches

John Stark Regional High School has the following coaching opening for the 2022-23 school year: Women’s Varsity and JV Volleyball, Bass Fishing, JV Field Hockey, and Cross Country. Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton Redhawks Football The program has the following vacant coaching positions for the 2022 season: varsity assistant and two JV coaches. Previous high school and college gaming experience preferred. Interested applicants who can commit to the season should submit an application at hdsd.org/employment.

Officials Wanted

The NH State Officiating Board offers several Football Officiating Coursess in the next few months. They involve a combination of online training, classroom work, and fieldwork.
