Northbound Lane 2 of Highway 101 from the Gaviota State Park entrance to one mile north of the Gaviota Tunnel will be closed for maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, 10 May to Thursday May 12.
The rock clearing/clearance operation will be performed by a team of Buellton and Caltrans engineers from San Luis Obispo to improve public safety, according to Caltrans District 5.
The operation includes the dislodging of loose rocks from the slopes above and the clearing of rocks from the rock mesh system adjacent to the northbound lanes.
Travelers can expect delays of no more than 15 minutes.
Electronic bulletin boards will warn motorists to prepare to stop when approaching the work zone.
